“Aaminah has been my counsellor for over a month now and reaching out for support and ending up with Aaminah as my therapist has been one of the biggest blessings of 2023 for me. When I initially reached out for support my depression was extremely severe and I was desperate to have an open space to discuss the difficulties in my life. From our first 15 consultation Aaminah was so warm and welcoming that we had instantly built a therapeutic alliance - something I didn’t imagine would be capable from a small phone conversation and building an alliance I understand can be difficult as I work with mental health patients myself. Aaminah allows me to fully express my emotions, feelings, experiences and thoughts in our sessions and tailors each session to my needs which I hugely appreciate. I feel incredibly comfortable to open up to Aaminah about everything I went through and I feel comfortable to be vulnerable and emotional in our sessions. Aaminah has always been empathetic making me feel like she is putting herself in my shoes fully understanding everything that I’ve been through and helping me see and process things clearer. I know my healing journey is still a long one but with Aaminahs help I’ve been able to see things a lot more clearly and value my self worth a lot more. I’ve recognised things within our sessions that I wouldn’t have been able to recognise and appreciate without her help. One of the best things about the sessions is that we lead through Allah and bring our religion into it too which is value and find most important. I am glad I am on this healing journey with Aaminah and with her help I know I’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel in sha Allah”

“I reached out to Aminah on behalf of a family member as we were not qualified to deal with what they were going through. Amina is excellent to work with especially because I didn't want my family member to have to deal with the admin of therapy but just take benefit from the sessions - Aminah was so mindful of this and understood where I was coming from. On top of that, she has been so communicative with me without overstepping the bounds patient confidentiality. Whilst I was not and still am not expecting things to change overnight (as is the way with therapy), the slow and steady progress I see in my family member is something I am truly truly grateful for.In addition, working with Amina for the benefit of my family member has allowed me to appreciate her empathy and she also has the amazing ability to allow me to see the world through my family member's eyes which in and of itself is a feat and helps me so much when it comes to them.Thank you so much and I pray this weighs heavy on your scales.”

“My experience of our sessions has been really positive. I came into them hoping I could bring myself out of a place of dysfunction, and although the reality of succeeding in that is not easy to see, I have left many sessions hopeful that I can do so.
The days our sessions have taken place, I have felt supported and validated in ways that are helpful for me to be able to motivate myself. I have also left with interesting insights into my mental health and my habits, which, as an introspective person, have been valuable to me in my efforts to become healthier mentally.
On a whole, I feel positive for sessions in the future and enjoy the proactivity in gaining more control over my own feelings and habits. A setting that considers my culture, background and religion is also highly valued. I recommend this service without a doubt!”

“I first started talking to Aaminah when I was feeling quite low. After my first session, I felt a huge relief, as I was finally addressing the issues I was facing for some time. She helped me look at my thoughts in a different way and as a result I felt less bad about myself. This was the first time I spoke to a Muslim counsellor and Alhamdulillah she was non-judgmental, understanding and I felt comfortable talking to her about my issues and I always used to look forward to our weekly sessions. I am very grateful I was able to get attend these sessions and I will never forget how much it helped me when I needed it.”

“A friend recommended Aaminah to me at a time when I probably needed it. I'd had periods of counselling before but it was too expensive for me to continue. Sessions at £10 were what I knew I could do though I was hesitant to try someone new. After my first session, I knew I was in good hands. She let me lead, made herself available outside of my sessions at times I really needed. She helped me see things from new perspectives and find my strength. I've since recommended her to many people & would continue to do so.”

She helped me face new challenges with effective coping methods, and her supportive approach made me realise I'm not alone. “Honestly, I’ve had previous counselling too, but I’ve never been consistent in it, despite it being mandatory for my own course. Ever since I started counselling sessions with Aaminah, I’ve felt a change and growth within myself and I’ve held down to it for 3 months. I was surprised at myself for holding it down for so long. Alhamdulillah, it’s helped me so much, unpacking my trauma with Aaminah, she truly internalises all aspects of what being a counsellor is and helps in your growth. I am truly grateful for the counselling I have received thus far as it’s really helped me.”

“I originally reached out for counselling to help me in dealing with my emotions in certain situations and managing my anxious approach, however, what I came away with after my sessions with Aaminah was so much more than the coping mechanisms I sought.
During my sessions with Aaminah, she listened to me so attentively and always made me feel heard. She validated my feelings in the scenarios I discussed with her and made such a safe and warm space for me to share things I'd never shared before.
My sessions originally started at 6, but I chose to continue to 10 as we had both agreed that I had reached a peak in our sessions that needed more time. I truly appreciate Aaminah for providing this opportunity to me to receive counselling.
I have gained clarity in knowing my feelings were justified and I've gained skills in which I was able to place boundaries in areas of my life where it needed placing. I go forward now with a renewed way of thinking in terms of my emotions and my anxiety, and when days are hard, I have an arsenal of techniques to help me deal with everything.
Truly life changing. May Allah reward and bless you all.”

“The best thing I did for my mental health this year without a doubt was sign up to counselling, and because my councillor Aaminah was so accommodating and understanding to every aspect I was able to feel a level of clarity that I'd never felt before. I highly recommend it!”

“Working with a counsellor has helped me to unpack and begin the journey of healing childhood traumas which I had not realised how much I carry these past experiences into my present life. Aaminah has helped equip me with techniques to recognise things that trigger negative emotions in me and manage these triggers and/or emotions so that I can respond to situations in a thoughtful way. This has ultimately allowed me to be more open and honest in my communication, helped me build healthier relationships and allowed me to feel that I control my emotions, not other people. I am incredibly grateful for Aaminah’s compassionate guidance and dedication to navigating me through these experiences and emotions, her expertise has been a big part of my self improvement journey and I would recommend her services to anyone seeking personal growth and emotional wellbeing.”
